I seem to vaguely recall that, in the late 1970's or so, it was predicted that, because of the ever-growing 'women's liberation movements' in this country, the birthrates would fall so dramatically that schools would be closed, the future elderly population would be basically abandoned because of the lack of offspring to care for them and men would be left to their own defenses in the areas of homecare, etc. Did it happen? nah.....
everything must cycle around.
They are behaving selfishly by sponging their basic living off parents while spending their paychecks on extravagances but it's a learning process-growing up watching their mothers be subservient while also being privvy to the western ways must be confusing. And, they are not us, merely seeing what they perceive to be the ideal life of women here (media crap again, I suppose), so they think they are emulating our lifestyle,IMO.
Japan for years complained of the overcrowding of their cities-now the country fears the cities will be filled with tumbleweeds while their women dine on fine food and buy designer bags?
It will eventually all cycle around to a comfortable level of compromise as a country that embraced its centuries-old traditions goes kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
