I actually believed they'd be coming back after the hiatus. Just seemed like they needed time for a break and time to regroup. I agree that it hasn't been the same since they came back. It really is a good time to hang it up. I'm sure after 21 years of playing together, the idea of having more time to be with their families and also of having the freedom of choice of what they pursue musically (without having impending Phish tours looming in the background conflicting with what they wanted to do personally) looked appealing. Probably will make Alpine and considering Coventry too. Would be a great way to end it.
