Have seen the LOTR film but not planning on watching anything Harry Potter or reading anymore of the books.

This isn't about the books, it's about the movies.
I think the Potter movies are better than the first two LOTR movies. Return of the King was easily the best. I'm going with Potter because I found half of Two Towers boring as hell.
PS: what's the deal with pitting shitty movies against good movies? Or decent movies versus classics? It seems a bit unfair. Independence day is raw shit, and Star Wars is a classic. Return of the King is the best of the trilogy...putting it against Phantom Menace really isn't fair since the third movie isn't out yet. Most people hated Phantom Menace, while Return of the King ended up being movie of the year to most people. It had no chance!
