looked up this thread this morning when my dad called and said he was having this problem at his office. He is using a recent Gateway system with SP1 and whatever else applied OEM.
For comparison my winXP pro coporate with no service packs, almost no direct MS security updates but with nearly every extraneous service & program ripped out, running behind a NAT hardware & software firewall, and closed security holes has had zero viruses or worms in the past three years.
