You don't have to be big to play striker (although it helps!), look at Michael Owen, he's something like 5 foot 4. You need to have good pace and ball control, and be able to finish... all of which Adu can do.

They wouldn't have signed him otherwise.

Also, it's upto the coach to decide who plays when, because at the end of the day it's his job on the line.

From seeing a couple of DC United games on ESPN, I rate Adu better than both of their current starting strikers.
