I dont know that there is much you can do to prevent her from having one, and hopefully she will learn enough in the process.
That said, she needs some instruction. The part about the kid is just scary. It strikes me that she seems to want the gun just because she thinks it will be fun or cool, and she has her priorities all mixed up. You dont get a CCP just because.
I understand you dont have time to teach her, but I think you could at least sit her down, minus a gun, and tell her, in dead seriousness, what she needs to do. Muzzle awareness. Trigger awareness. Never trust that the gun is unloaded. And all the rest. Sit her down and tell her, forcefully, this isnt a joke, this isnt fun, this is dead serious and you need to listen. Spell it out for her as seriously as you can. Shouldnt take longer than 30 minutes, and hopefully some of it will stick.
