It's a map in which there are like 8 vesepene geysers around you and there are minerals (Consisting of around 50,000 instead of the usual 1500 in any other map, therefore; you never have to expo to get fresh supply) surrounding your CC, Nexus, or Hatchery. (Other variations include where there are several mineral all stacked into 1 to reduce "clutter")
Mostly, these maps require little skill. All you really have to do is mass and whoever has the most units win.
I haven't played a money map in over 2 years so I don't really know if they have changed in that period of time.
I only play maps that have been approved for the season over at
WGTour. The maps that are used are like LT 2.3, Gaema Gowon, Halls of Valhalla, Namja Iyagi, etc.
