Some of my friends (whose parents forbade them from touching the stuff) would get beer and drink it as fast as they could just to get pissed. I would drink like my folks and watch these guys make idiots of themselves.
By the time a child gets to the age that they want to drink with their friends they should have at least a groundwork of understanding of the effects of drinking. I think the reactionary, not in my house, kick out the child attitude is over the top and one of the contributing factors to teenage binge drinking.
I with everyone else in that the shit hits the fan if you drink and drive.

My thoughts *exactly*. My parents were (are? Im still underage) the same way, and I am thankful for it.
