I'd agree with that, though I'm a little harsher in my overall opinion. Perlman did a great job in the role, the effects and set design were decent, but I just sort of lost interest about halfway through -- all that run-run chase-chase sort of mushed together, and I stopped finding it suspenseful.
Also, while in the comics finding a vast underground dungeon with gigantic mantraps that goes on for miles under an obscure ceremony isn't anything to remark on, in a movie, well, it's a little ridiculous.
Or maybe I'm just disappointed because the movie peaked in the first ten minutes. Occult Nazis trying to breach the barrier into the hell dimension in the middle of a firefight with G.I.s? What's not to like :-). Coulda been great, but turned out to be just an okay popcorn movie. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
On the other hand, the trailer for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was brilliant.
