Hellboy
Anyone see it? I saw it last night. It was VERY interesting. I don't know if I like it or not (yet). I need to think about it for a while. The action scenes were decent, not the best, but they were good enough. The acting was EXCELLENT. That's where the movie shines. Perlman gives obnoxiously not-funny one-liners every 5 seconds during the action scenes. These are actually so not-funny that they end up being funny. Like an FBI agent runs out in front of a truck, and Hellboy jumps over in front of the truck and goes "RED MEANS STOP!" and punches the front of the truck making it do a flip over top of them. True comedy.
Perlman is great as Hellboy (I think). The reason I say "I think" is because I don't know anything about Hellboy at all. So I guess that's how he is supposed to act. I know that by the end of the movie you don't see the makeup anymore or the redicilous arm. You see a troubled freak.
Graphics: For the most part, very good. Some of the parts were "iffy," but none of them were just bad.
Conclusion: I liked it, but it's not for people who don't read comics (or didn't read comics at one point). The last 1/3 of the movie concentrates on the comic-aspect of the series, leaving regular plotlines behind. I recommend it for open-minded people.
