I couldn't get into the first otherworld book (I have a proof copy somewhere).
Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, though (The series that starts with the Dragonbone Chair) may be the best bit of epic fantasy writing ever, though. I'd say every bit as good as Tolkien, nearly as realisitic in it's own way as George RR Martin's Song of Ice & Fire, every bit as unique as the Black Company, and so much shorter than the Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan needs to finish that damn thing already. Grumble.)
