I had one. Honestly, it beat the hell outta me. Don't jump to conclusions. I grew up shooting full power .357 and .44 magnums. Just something about this gun wrecked my hand whenever I shot it. I think it was something about the grip in relation to the size of my hands (beefy). I think the web area edged up over the top of the grip and was getting battered by the back of the frame.
Other than that, the big issue I had with it was weight. It is a beefy gun, and the weight made it tougher to carry. Can't just toss it in a pocket holster and go.
Ruger does make great guns though. I'd love to get a GP-101 as a trail gun.
