Well what is really nice about the Ruger brand is that they over build thier guns. They are thick. You can reload and make hot loads and not worry about the thing Kabooming on you. The down side is they are heavy. That is the only reason I carry a S&W for carry. Its all about the weight. Great gun though.

I had one. Honestly, it beat the hell outta me. Don't jump to conclusions. I grew up shooting full power .357 and .44 magnums. Just something about this gun wrecked my hand whenever I shot it. I think it was something about the grip in relation to the size of my hands (beefy). I think the web area edged up over the top of the grip and was getting battered by the back of the frame.
Other than that, the big issue I had with it was weight. It is a beefy gun, and the weight made it tougher to carry. Can't just toss it in a pocket holster and go. Ruger does make great guns though. I'd love to get a GP-101 as a trail gun. |
