OK, yeah there is a Shelbyville near springfield, but there are quite a few differences.

I think that if it were an actual state that it could be Oregon, they seem to be able to get into their car and drive to the ocean in one day, and the very next day they can turn around and drive to the dessert, it's not too hot, and it does snow there.
But in actuallity it was meant to be just "another town" almost every state has a Springfield and the writer had to put down they lived in "such-insuch-town" or it wouldn't seem liable. Right?
