Only thing I can add is that I've found that programs (games mostly) that use DirectX sometimes have problems if installed on an NTFS partition. I don't understand why, but it seems NTFS doesn't always play well with DirectX. I have a drive with FAT32 partitions that I use specifically for the installation of games. Before I set up this drive, I had problems. Afterwards, no problems. No driver changes, nothing. Just reinstalled on a FAT partition.

BTW, the DVD edition of UT2004 rocks. The MAYA, uPaint and UnrealEd instructional videos kicked my ass. Now I've got to get me a real copy of MAYA. PLE version's nice for learning, but the watermark sucks. Guess you can't have it all from a free version of a $7,000 software package.
