i tried mounting the cd rom quite a few different ways. i even changed the drivers. a kid i go to school with says it's an oversight on the development of the 2.6.x kernel, but i don't know if he's blowing smoke up my ass or not.
SecretMethod: mandrake is among the easiest to use linux flavors available. it's free, open source, and almost as easy to use as windows. mandrake 10.0 community is just the free public edition of the newest mandrake release.
