mandrake linux 10.0 community

the community edition of mandrake linux 10.0 became available for free download the tenth of this month. i downloaded it yesterday, installed it last night, and i'm already having problems.

i've been running mandrake linux 9.2 for quite some time, and burned quite a bit of media while i was using it. for some strange reason, when i tried to view the contents of any cd's that had been burned with mandrake 9.2 (k3b, actually) all i got was gibberish. it's not my hardware or my drivers, i've tried it on another machine and got the same result. it may be a problem caused by the differences in the 2.4.22 and 2.6.3 kernels, but i haven't been able to find any documentation on the subject.

i'm surprised that mandrakesoft didn't catch this "little bug" before the release of their new product, and i'm a little disappointed. i'm definitely a fan of mandrake linux, it made the windows/linux switch almost completely painless for me. the os itself is great, i just can't believe that i'm down 40 or 50 cd's just because of a back compatibility issue. has anyone had any other problems or major bugs with 10.0?
