He thought it might be a firewall prob, but he couldn't figure it out.

I bought Norton Internet Security 2004 today. After I installed it I could not get on line. My computer would not recognize my dsl modem. It is an external modem. I tried to reinstall my service and the wizard would not let me. I did a system restore and went back a few days and was able top get back on line. Does any one know how I can get them to work together? I use a usb port on the back of my computer to connect to my modem.
