Amen.
My human sexuality teacher passed out a table of she said/he said quotes that typify the most common examples of miscommunication between a couple. These quotes were from a book written by a therapist who interviewed many couples seeking therapy (meaning their volunteers, which can skew the representation). The quotes are more like summaries of the common problems, they're not word for word (although in some cases they might be).
Here are some miscommunication problems:
She says - I like it soft and gentle.
He says - I like to "hit it" hard, that's what she likes me to do.
(My commentary: If that's what she likes, how come she's saying the exact opposite?)
She says - He just wants to "stick it in." That just doesn't do anything for me.
He says - She should want me inside of her. Now that's love and adoration for me.
(My commentary: Most egotistical and selfish thing I've ever heard.)
