I have gone through a number of hard drives, just like everyone else. If the warranty ran out there's a good chance the hard drive is just old from use. If a single dust particle gets inside your hard drive it's screwed. I seriously doubt Dell used a refurbished hard drive unless the entire system is refurbished. It just sucks because your warranty is up and you are stuck without a working pc. I recommend just going to Best Buy and get another hard drive to stick in there.
