my experience with these guns is that they are horribly unacurate past 10-15 feet. They are fun if you enjoy shoting your friends at close rang, but they do sting a little on bare skin. And I've never seen them jam, mostly because its shoting a plastic BB

oh ya, they are fun, but get one that is colored black, to make it seem more realistic. You can color the orange tip black to once you get it. This adds to the fun. a clear gun with bright colors is very toyish looking.

range is 50feet MAX
practical range is about 20feet max
they're fun for about ten minutes.
they wont jam as they are not semi-automatic,. you have to rack the slide for each shot.

cheaper and better air soft guns are available- you can get a good rack the slide and fire for about 15 bucks, and whild they are fun , and not so jam prone, there is a limit- got a buddy who uses them for gun disarm practice though, and loves em, though note that these things arent so durrable, being plastic- you can also get full auto, and that is a hellluva blast with friends, but they once again tend to have a short lifespan, unless they are the expensive gas powered guns, the battery powered ones tend to jam and break quick......

Go to a sporting goods store and pick up a pistol for 20-25 if you just want to shoot your friends (wear safety glasses!) You can get spring, semi-auto, or even full auto for under 35, and they're fun if you want something less messy than paintball for around the yard or house. I have a few cheap guns, and I took them apart and put a spacer behind the spring in each one to boost velocity so I can use .2g instead of .12g, since the lighter balls fly everywhere in a gun with hop-up. A few friends play, and we play a mix of melee and scenario games at houses or in secluded public places. Orange tips are a necessity for public use (we play on public space in the woods on rarely-used hiking trails.)

If you really want to get into airsoft checkout Airsoft Retreat forums

Gas Blowback pistols are so much fun- how cool is recoil on a toy gun
