Recommended Night Sights?
Looking to replace my standard sights on my glock 22. I've been checking out the Ameriglo, Meprolight, and Trijicon sights. Any recommendations/experiences with any of these? What colors do you prefer...all green, green rear - yellow or orange front? In addition, Ameriglo makes a ghost ring night sight...has anyone had any experience with this type of sight?

Meprolight and Trijicon have the best rep. Just make sure that the ones you get have a warrenty.

ghost ring sites or peep sights are awesome. They really make it easier to focus on the target, and when you use them properly you kinda get to ignore the rear site, kinda, I'm prolly not describing it properly
but anyways, never used them on a pistol, on rifles I love them tho. If I was to get a nite site setup, I would prolly go with a non-nite sight rear sight, and a single green dot on the front blade... but that's just me, all I want is the front blade to stand out... have you considered Novak sights? They have quite a good rep in the 1911 genre.... |
Only one I've heard about (and it was all good) is Trijicon. I've never seen it, but I imagine green rear orange front would be pretty spiffy.

i have the hiene "straight-eight" tritium sites on my glock 19, and like them. they have a big dot on the all-important front site and a smaller dot below the notch in the rear site. you stack the two dots to line up the sites (looks like the number 8 which is where they get the name)

I'll second the Meps or Trij's. Great sights.

I've got the Trijicon Novak sights on my glock 19 (all three green) and couldn't ask for a better setup. They fit the design of my 19 perfectly and looks like it's an integrated part of the pistol. Night performance is astounding, and the white outside rings make it perfect for day shooting.
I got mine from www.topglock.com for $90 with a 12 year warranty. |
I will have to go with Trijicon also. I've got them mounted on my glock 21. Works great!!
