Bad 7.62x25 milsurp ammo. The site below has all the details(including headstamp info)and pictures of a blown CZ-52.

Duh, there are two type of the Tokarov round, the sub machinegun and the pistol. Looks like this guy shot th sub gun stuff and paid the price for it.
BTW, bad url. |
There's actually three types...the lightweight stuff for the TT-33 Tokarev, the M-48 that the CZ-52 fires, and the hot-loaded stuff for the Pp-series submachineguns. This definitely looks like some of the subgun ammo is running around...if it did THAT to a CZ, just think how nasty it'd be in a TT-33!!!
|
Really, Three types. Thanks for the info.
|
No problem. I only found out about it by accident; we had a customer come in with a demolished TT-33 about a year ago...he'd fed it some M-48, and it was toasted. I'd hate to see what some of this subgun ammo would do to it!

while we're on the subject, be very wary of Indian 7.62x51 (.308)
that shit is bad news.... |
already knew about the hot load-ed stuff... but now I know more. Thanks. Will keep it away from my lil CZ52.
