Left Handed Rifles.

Does anyone know of any left handed semi automatic rifles? I've checked almost everywhere I can think of. I have also looked at ton of diffrent companies. While most companies have left handed bolt action rifles, I have yet to find a semi automatic. Thanks for any help.

Steyr Aug
Beretta Cx4 Storm

DPMS makes a left-handed AR15--the Panther Southpaw IIRC.

The only difference is the upper has the left hand side milled out and a bolt to eject to the left. Beyond that, it's all regular AR.

I don't know exactly what you mean by left-handed, but if it's just referring to having shells thrown into your face, a lot of weapons can have case deflectors on them in order to protect you from certain pain.

The AUG/USR series from Steyr can have left-handed bolts thrown in, as can the new Beretta Storm carbine, although the Storm is pistol-calibre. At one point there was talk of Bushmaster building it's M-17 bullpup in a left-handed version, but I think that one's dead. It's not left-handed, but the ejection port on my FAL is pretty far forward, and chucks the brass forward as well. I've never had a problem shooting it southpaw for drills.

Thanks for the advice. Seems from what I read on those guns is that no matter which one I choose it's going to be hard to find in stores.

Suave: Yes, getting shells thrown in my face is the biggest problem. I've never heard of case deflectors before, sounds more of a last resort kinda thing though. Which I might do depending on if left handed bolts cost significantly more money.

The M16A2 (and AR15A2) rifles have a brass deflector build into the upper receiver that does a good job of blocking the shells from hitting you lefties. I have a left-handed friend who borrowed my rifle and never complained. (It is that hump behind the ejection port.)

If this was your main concern, a stock AR15 with an A2 upper will fit your needs and be easy to find. Any gun store (not sporting goods store) will carry ARs. You should even be able to find a post-post ban by now or maybe make a deal on a post-ban w/o the bayo lug and flash supressor.

I too asked this question (although it was more AR-15 specific). I got the same answer that cuervo gave, DPMS. My next question was "are they a good company". A lot replied that they were not, and a small few said either they LOVED it, or said it was the same as all the others.

So if you're liking the sound of a left hand AR... go carefully and dom some research about DMPS. Here is a link to get you started. http://www.ar15.com/forums/

That's odd, my local shop had 8 Augs on the rack last time I was there. I think two or three were lefty.

The problem with the AYG/USR series is the cost: $3000 at -least!-
