Canadian firearm laws (prohibited firearms)
Okay, I tried numerous sites, as well as the government of Canada site, and they all gave me the runaround while I was trying to figure out what the hell a "prohibited" firearm actually is and the rules regarding it. I got an enormous list of weapons, as well as specifications, but I want to know what the rules around owning one are. They are for sale from certain retailers, so it would seem logical that they are not completely "prohibited" per se, but I have no idea what the licensing or anything else regarding them is. Can anyone help?

Have you checked out this site? http://www.simonov.net/canadalaw.htm
It seems to explain Candian gun laws fairly well. |
Ah thanks. The site did outline a little better the rules regarding prohibited firearms. It's too bad the FAL falls under that classification though.

I know fully automatic weapons are prohibited in Canada, There is a caliber that is prohibited too but I can't remember what it is. The other prohibitions have to do with barrel length & overall length of rifles/shotguns.
