Bought my first pistol
I know a lot of you out there are already seasoned veterans in the gun ownership category, but I am just about to go pick up my first pistol. Obviously I had to wait the standard 3 days, but it has been a week and I am "shooting" out of here to go pick it up now. I have a .22 rifle, but this pistol is my first. It is a blue .40 cal Beretta and I just wanted to share my excitement. No other real purpose for this thread than that!
<---- elation! :D :D :D |
Congrats.
Enjoy. |
I also have a 96 but its an inox. It is a sweet shooting gun huh? If you ever decide to have any trigger work done on it you should google langdon tactical. He is a very nice guy who does great work on berettas. Shoot safe.

good for you!!!!! learn to reload if you like to plick a lot. the .40 cal can get expensive.
Get some snap caps and don't dry fire. Beretta firing pins don't like it.
Congratulations on your purchase, and I hope you're lucky enough to never have to point it at anything but a target.
it's funny, but I didn't have to wait for three days to get me Kel-tec, I went in and walked right out with it, maybe indiana has some wierd rules. good luck with the gun, aim slow and shoot straight!
Waiting periods are instituted by state law, not federal, and some states choose not to have a waiting period.
Congrats! May you be fortunate enough to only point it at paper =)
Yeah, Illinois is one of those states where you have to wait. I basically got it for 3 reasons. 1) To protect my wife and I, 2) to shoot targets, and 3) it is my constitutional right!
I have been target shooting for many years, just always borrowed someone else's gun, and thought, it was time for my own. I will definitely enjoy! |
