What can I say? Start writing to your representatives and make sure this crap doesn't get attached and passed. |
"""""" THIS IS WHAT WE NEED TO DO NOW:
1) Call Senator John Warner and THANK him for sponsoring this bill. 2) Call Senator George Allen and ask him to please return to his initial positive position on the AWB issue and support this bill. 3) Call Senator John Kerry, thank him for supporting the AWB and ask him to please arrange his campaign schedule so that he can return to Washington to vote for the bill. He did this once before and we desperately need his vote. We can't afford to lose 1 vote!""" He is absolutely positively correct. Except for the fact that the vote needs to be against this crap |
Brainwahed ----> those weird people.
|
talked to some gun dealers recently- none of them believed that the AWB would expire- seems that now there are elected officials diligently trying to run my life and protect me from myself- of course- please keep us posted on how this developes
|
Even after all the facts she and many of Dems just can't admit the bill was wronfg in the first place and did little if any good.
|
Why do people support this law when in reality it will not do any good?
|
Maybe because it makes them feel better?
It looks good to the public, there's no doubt about that. By public I mean the unwashed uneducated near illiterate voting masses. |
I just cant get over how they are so ga-ga over this PLACEBO!!!!

And I agree that it is useless, but that's not what the senators are hearing. Also: maybe I got mixed up, but I thought that non-germane riders weren't allowed in the senate? Anyone know? |

It plays well in CA, where the memories of the 101 California shooting are kept fresh by the media. |
Not sure how factual it was but this law and more importantly the clip ban have actually hurt our military. With the assualt guns being banned most of our future military rifles will come from other countries like the new X8 which is based on designs from HK(Heckler & Koch XM29). US companies which relied on adapting tech to civilian use simply are seeking other areas like Colt. The clip ban has seen the gun industry stop making clips in general. The ones being procured by are military are crap for the Berretas. The springs are junk and they can barely hold 10 rounds without jamming when they should hold 17. Troops over in Iraq/Afganistan are asking parents to find preban clips and send them. A deplorable state of affairs caused by this bill.

TY :) |
What is so silly about this whole AWB nonsense is that being shot at close range with a shotgun is probably more damaging than being hit by any of those nasty evil-looking high tech weapons.

Also, you can get more rounds out of most semi-autos than out of a shotgun. Therefore, the statement "you can shoot more bullets from a semi-auto" is correct, however the leathalness is what comes into question. Most people don't think about this. We won't get into the fact that doing things like modifying hollow points to contain mercury can be far, far more lethel than getting shot by a shotgun or semi-auto. |
:p Sorry to use to my Stripper clip from M1 everything else I own has seperate mag/clip:o

remember the supporters of this bill have no contact with reality at all. These are the same fools who still believe you can control criminals by passing laws. By defination criminals don't care about laws. They are the same types who thought if we asked Saddam to play nice he would and we could all sit around the campfire and sing Koom BY-ah. When we can't stop drugs from being imported by the ton what makes these guys think they can stop assault weapons from ohter countries from being imported. They also don't want to wake up and see what arms bans in England and Austrailia have done to their violent crime, both countries violent crime rate went through the roof. CRIMINALS DON'T LIKE ARMED VICTIMS.

It embarrasses me to say that I voted for John Warner. After this, and his shameful argument with Sen Byrd over Warner's advocacy of the Senate abrogating the powers of War to the President, I doubt I'll be voting for Sen Warner again.
|
so whats going on with it now- any "good " congresscritters jumping on this to stop it, updates from any with em would be great
