I jammed a .177caliber(4.5mm) air rifle, HELP
Apparently a bullet is jammed somewhere at the start of the barrel but I can't get it out. I'm guessing I'll need a long wire or somethin but I don't know where to get it.
Will a car antenna fit in a .177 caliber(4.5mm) barrel? Thanks in advance |
A car antenna will both fit in, and scratch the hell out of the rifling. I assume that it's a pellet, not a bullet, based on the fact that it's an air rifle. If you give me more info, like the model of rifle, I could probably give you better advice on how to fix the problem.

Yes it is a pellet.
The only model description I can give you is that it's a Remington Airmaster77 .177caliber(4.5mm) Pellet/BB Pneumatic air rifle BTW since the pellet is so close to the beginning of the barrel , the bolt won't close if I put in another pellet, I can't shoot the jammed pellet out either. I think I'll need some sort of rod to push it out of the barrel. |
There are rifle cleaning kits out there for .17 calibre rifles. They tend to be aluminum stems, and thus won't mar the rifling. Try one of those.

I'll bet you closed the bolt fast enough that you didn't notice the pellet was sideways and mashed it in. Do what Moonduck says.

Make sure you use a metal that's softer than the rifling, which means aluminum or copper. 1/8" copper rod should do the trick.

I agree. It's easy to take a piece of metal wire, bunch up some napkins and shove it down the barrel, but it would be a wise decision to use a cleaning kit.
