Where do I get Airsoft Batteries?
 

Here's what I tried to order through redwolf but they want to charge me 50 bucks for shipping??? What gives? Anyone else know where I can get a good price on this combo?

I propose one of two things with regards to the shipping.

1. Hazardous Material Shipping...not sure what might qualify from your list, maybe the battery?
2. Price gouging on shipping to make up for undercost sale prices?

I ran those model numbers through froogle and came up empty, so unfortunately I have no suggestions on alternate re/e-tailers for you.

i'd like to say i know somewhere you can get batteries shipped from, but i went from buying local batteries to making my own as i need them

i'll ask around my compadres this weekend to see if they have any web retailers for batteries.

oh, and I'd recommending going big on the charger. I used to have a shit charger and my (previously NiCad) batteries had no battery life and a very low cyclic number (maybe 20-30 charges before i was at half capacity), then i got a great charger (can't remember at the moment) and it can save old batteries, peak charge your batteries, and the super-fast charge attached to car allows for me to charge in ~30-40 minutes, so i can charge on the go if its a heavy shooting evening

you might check and see if a local store can fabricate batteries for you- I know we have a local "battery outfitter" that will do anything you want, and is cheap- so maybe there is something like that near you....

Jeez, guys. $50 for shipping a 20lbs gun, charger AND batterypack from Hong Kong is *not* expensive. Playing airsoft comes at a price, as there are practically no domestic manufacturers -- everything must be shipping internationally and through US customs, which has its own fees, regulations and risks.

As far as batteries go, I got mine from a local man in Georgia. I'd recommend taking a trip down to your local hobby shop, to ask if they can point you to someone that can make you a pack. It turns out that the battery connectors and cells used in airsoft guns are the same size as those used in RC cards (at least, with my TM gun). Check the manufacturer details for your gun (the voltage/amp requirements) and work from there. You can buy the battery charger in the local shop too. You might even call a stateside dealer to ask (Tactical Airsoft in Roswell, GA is a good place to call).

But, the gun alone is going to cost an arm and a leg to import. Its heavy and its a gun going through customs, post 9/11. You're going to have to get over the $50 shipping cost -- you're not going to find much better. You're only other real option is to buy a gun already in the States. Maybe a used gun would work for you (I'd find a local player selling one -- there's always someone at the field selling their old mp5.

That is what I was going to say. You'll get hit with that kind of shipping anywhere overseas, no matter what you are ordering.

Ruprex, I sincerely believe that you will find similar prices at your local hobby shop, and subsequently save on shipping prices (even after local taxes).

The benefit of buying a battery at your local hobby shop is that you can take the gun in with you and try the battery's fit out first. The orientation of the cells that compose the battery can make or break the deal -- even though they sum to the correct voltage and wattage as some battery packs are configured with lengthwise cells, where you may need a hybrid long vs wide. Unless you're buying from an airsoft dealer that can guarantee a fit, then I would want to try before I bought.

BTW, $37 is a bit much for a smart charger without car battery cables for quick field charging... do not buy that charger.

Hobby stores that sell batteries for electric r/c cars are the same things, May however have to assemble packs if you can't get 7 cells (alot of them are just 6 cell sticks, some are 7 cells though). Plus the battery chargers sold by hobby shops are usually alot better.
