Paintball Guns

how many people own paintball guns?

mine is a raced and aced freeflow cocker, and can shoot more then 20 balls per second. Its pretty sweet, and ill see if i can get some pics hosted of it.

anyone else own pb guns? even if u dont paintball its fun just to have em and shoot around and tinker with em and stuff... theyr fun.

sure its not as fun as a real gun... but u can shoot ur friend with a pb gun

I run a Tippmann Model 98... the old kind, before they made the change and still had gills in the front. I've customized this thing to no end, from trigger work to milling the gills out, reversing the bottomline, and cutting into the frame. When it comes to paintball, this gun's my baby... I've tried others, but I always come back ;)

It's just so reliable and rugged, not to mention accurate with a nice trigger....

I've even gone so far as to make a bullpup conversion for it and modify the sear to be full auto....

Winter needs to be over soon... snow sucks for paintball :(

Ripsaw 02-13-2004 11:02 AM

Black Magic 2003 Autococker modded with some Dye parts and a new grip.

Shooting 20 balls a second? Might as well be throwing ten dollar bills at them. I can shoot fast. I don't need to.

Mastershredder 02-13-2004 11:35 AM

I have a Spyder TL from a few years ago. I used to be pretty into Paintball with a bunch of friends, but after realizing that it would cost $50 just to play for one day, we all stopped playing. Hopefully it's better now because of more places opening up, but the places a few years ago wanted an arm and a leg just for admission. It's a shame because my one friend dropped $700 on a modded Bushmaster and only used it a few times before he stopped playing. One of these day's i'll probably play again providing it doesn't cost too much... now that i'm older and have a decent paying job, I can afford things like this. :)

G5_Todd 02-13-2004 05:33 PM

i really like paint ball but lost interest with the more developted the guns got......

i had more fun playing when it was mostly pumps.....

now a pickup game at a local field is decided by who has the best gun and who can afford the most paint.......

and people with the field rental stuff get slaughtered......

platypus 02-14-2004 12:09 PM

I first got into Paintball about 20 years ago. I don't even think it had the name yet. It was called Adventure game or Splatball or something. I played in the foothills southwest of Denver with and against Denver cops and Airforce guys from Colorado Springs. Now that was fun. :D The only guns available were 8-shot marking pistols and 6-shot revolvers that used the little CO2 cartridges.

I graduated college, moved away, and it wasn't until about five years ago that I got into it again. I bought a Spyder and, other than a longer vented barrel, pretty much played with it stock. Most of my modding went into my mask. Camouflage, battery powered pc fan to keep the inside fog free, and a built-in walkie-talkie.

Since moving yet again about 3 years ago, I've been away from the game. Still have the Spyder, but it sits alone, nestled in its case...waiting...

I miss it, but I agree with G5_Todd. Unless you've got a Revolution-fed Angel or some such Wagner paint sprayer, you're toast. Every time. No shooting skill needed anymore. Just point and spray.

runawayfetus 02-14-2004 05:34 PM

hah it really depends on the field

like my home field has a walk-on woods-ball type game and then a speedball field as well. So all the players with a lot of paint and nice guns go play the speedball, and all the beginners who rent guns play the woods ball.. Just need to find ur thing

MSD 02-15-2004 08:58 AM

I have a 98 Custom with double trigger, Quiet Riot barrel (the sewer pipe - .70,) a remote for when I'm in the woods and want full range of motion, and a few internal polishings I did in my spare time. I also have a stock ACI Maverick, which I need to fix.

I play in the local woods with friends, and recently forgave a debt owed to me in exchange for the right to use 67 acres of land as a private field. We're setting up oil drums and various bunkers, and maybe even a few trenches. It's our own little private club and field.

I hope you don't expect it to last long, because the sear in the 98's can't take full auto for any extended period of time. Trust me on this one, it isn't pretty when some dumbass holds down the trigger while pouring pods through a revvy and the sear gives out, spraying said dumbass with CO2 and chopped paint.

moot1337 02-16-2004 11:16 AM

Right you are, MrSelfDestruct, I ended up unmodding the sear once I got to playing again... full auto at that high of a rate is just too expensive/wasteful in a real game. I have to admit that it was insanely fun for popping cans, though ;)

The bullpup trigger w/tank reversed was totally fun, as the weight balances right at the front handle... my dream is to get another running in that config with some light CO2 tanks... would be like having 2 paintball-hurling extensions of your arms...

Anyone else here play in a junkyard ever? Quite an interesting difference compared to woods play.... it can be almost like speedball at times.

SSJTWIZTA 02-19-2004 04:33 PM

I own a bushmaster B2K2. I havnt balled in a while, im thinking about putting the freak on and airing up the tank so i can play soon. Im Thinking about spending some money and buying a speed angel or a free flow cocker.

I couldn't agree with you more. I've been twice. The first time it almost made me never want to go back ever again. There were guys with HAND CANNONS of paintbull guns there. Freakin' assault rifles. One of the most terrible experiences of my life. I was really young and this Vietnam vets were playing us.

The second time I went, I went with a huge group of my friends, we had the gigantic forest to ourself. Now that was fucking fun. We all had the same shitty rental guns :)

I'm running a Bob Long. Particularly, an Ironman Intimidator.

runawayfetus 02-29-2004 02:57 PM

i had an ironmen.. they are pretty sweet. how u like urs? Im lookin to get a timmy again

Church 02-29-2004 03:54 PM

I love my Ironman. I had a custom 98 before this decked out like an ak-47. stock, mock clip, remote air, etc. I liked that gun, but I thought it was time for an upgrade.

tfin 03-01-2004 10:23 PM

I have 2 guns. One is a stock Spyder classic that the little lady uses, The other is a Spyder flash LCD with some upgrades and more comming. I want to get a timmy for my next gun. They look good and my name is Tim so it fits rather well.

I am very lucky to be able to play with people that all have guns of equal quality/power/cost as mine. Skill is actualy more powerful than a fist full of cash.

theguyondacouch 03-02-2004 10:19 AM

I have a spyder imagine with a remote 20 oz tank, and an assortment of barrels. I think when I get the money, I'm gonna get a nice pump gun with a sniper barrel.

Agreed. The field that I go to is filled with people that have their own guns, however, there is this one kid that comes every week, and rents his own gun. I think its an old ratty custom 98, and he works everyone.

Everyone has Spyders, Tippmans, Angels, good guns, and this 13 year old kid comes in and just kills us all, lol. He's very good.

tfin 03-02-2004 07:13 PM

HAHA, thats funny. One of the people I play with used to be on a team before he got a kid and had to work all the time. Well he has a matrix and can let out a good stream of paint if he wants. So the guy who runs the operation that we play at will not believe it is not full auto, so he just does not argue and does the same as that 13 year old. He mops us up with a rental PMI black max.

Not to mock, but you didn't actually say "sniper barrel," did you?

Now I want everyone to raise their hand if they've taken a Brass Eagle pump gun and goggled some righ kid who thought he was so good because his parents bought him an Angel or Timmy. :D

runawayfetus 03-02-2004 09:32 PM

hahahah werd

Ripsaw 03-03-2004 08:14 AM

*** raises his hand ***

But my 'cocker sure is purdy.

ChickenNinja 03-04-2004 07:28 AM

20 balls a second? You're lying. The paint would get chopped up before it got out of the barrel.

Besides, Airsoft is better ;) I have a pair of MP5Ks, one of them with a solid MP5 stock and a large battery, the other PDWd. Taking the pair out on the field is the biggest rush ever. . . . but noone else enjoys it :)

tfin 03-04-2004 08:19 AM

Actualy 20 bps is rater atainable. It just takes a good hand and a good hopper.

I dont own one yet but when i get the cash this baby is MINE

Elegant Holmes 03-05-2004 10:25 AM

I had a TS-1 for awhile, it was stolen from my garage when I was out of town. I believe it may have been the first full auto marker around. That was my favorite pgun of all. I now own an autococker. I have also a fondness for anything Tippman makes. I graduated from the older pump guns to a Tippman semi when they just had the first model. I tagged a friend of mine who was mocking me because he knew the range of my Nightmare. He he he. Good times.....

theguyondacouch 03-05-2004 12:35 PM

Yeah, I said sniper barrel. I'm not going to buy one actually, im going to buy a barrel blank, and have the machine shop port it out for a rifleing type effect.

Ripsaw 03-05-2004 12:59 PM

While all the paintballers are paying attention to this thread, is anyone going to the Big Game Long Island 2004?
