high capacity magazines
i just got a smokin deal on a Ruger 10/22, i wanna buy a couple 25 round magazines for the gun, and found them for 40 bucks each new. This is an excellent price, however I live in the US and the magazines are in Canada, everything I can find about importing these into the states (other than into California) has been pretty vague. I live in Oregon and I can legally posess them, so that part isn't an issue. So should I buy them or not?

Sorry,
Illegal for you to possess new Hi-caps if you aren't military or LEO. I would just wait until this summer when the AWB expires and you'll be good to go. |
they're not newly manufactured, they were manufactured prior to the ban, they just have never been used.

OH, ic.
Hmmm, 40$ eh? I don't know. I might wait until summer and the inevitable rush after the AWB expires and see what prices are. That's just me tho. If you really want them, go for it. |
Um, I am not so sure it is illegal to import any high cap magazines.
I would either: buy american pre-ban mags or wait until the AWB expires in september and buy cheap high-caps then. |
No importation of hicaps is allowed. Wait until September and let's see what happens....

You could also try browsing the auctions on Gunbroker . You can usually find some good deals on there for pre-ban mags, found in the US - which are legal.

I've been really good this year Santa, and all I want is for that damned fucked up excuse for gun control to expire. :D |
