does any one know the legals of airsoft guns?

and what needs to be done when shiping them over seas

i am thinking about geting into the game but i want to understand all the laws that govern it first.

Don't use them where people will see you and think they're real guns, no sales to anyone under 18.

other than that, check your local sporting goods store and they should know.

They shouldn't have any more regulation than BB guns.

The biggest issue is that if someone sees you in full tac gear, holding what appears to be a fully automatic rifle, there will be trouble!

When shipping overseas make sure the trademarks are covered up and they have the tips painted orange.

Painted orange with finger nail polish, that way you can get it off if you want. Also, there's probably a web forum you can go to that has info on airsoft in cal.

why do the trade marks have to be coverd?

Import laws. Only some airsoft guns actually have permission to have the trademarks on them. The Maruzen Walther P99 and the Western Arms Berettas are some of the few. Others have to have the trademarks covered or scratched out. (If you're ordering an airsoft gun make sure they use tape or the black glue stuff they use.)

By the way, if you have any other airsoft questions, I'm the one to ask. Yup.

Depends on the state. The one cop that plays with us here in Memphis doesn't have orange on his barrel, so take that for what it's worth.

Wrap orange electrical tape around the tip of the barrel if you want something that can be removed.

i have one that looks like a desert eagle its a bunch of fun... the little oarnge tip fell off tho... honest i didnt take it off on purpose... they are definently fun in the dorms... just cant let the RAs see em...

If customs catch the Trademarks they might sieze it. So just putting tape over the TradeMark could be risky.

Maybe your should just buy it from a Stateside airsoft store.

Most shops will sell you a spare black metal tip under the table, or include it with ammo for free (whatever). Take along a small hex to the field and remove/replace as necessary.
