Beretta 8045
I am thinking about getting a new 45acp. I already have 2 1911's but I starting to think about something in a traditional double action (TDA). The front-runner at this point is the Beretta 8045. Mostly, because I am a big Beretta fan, I have three Berettas already.
So I would like to see if anyone out there has a Beretta 8045, shot one or have a Beretta in the 8000 series and what their opinion is of it. If not, does any one have any other suggestions on a 45acp in a TDA? |

No opinion on the Beretta, but insofar as TDA .45ACP's are concerned, I really like the Sig 220. It is probably overall the finest factory .45ACP pistol I've shot (barring factory customs, of course). Dead reliable, dead accurate, well made.
I also like H&K's USP in that calibre. Excellent choice as well. |

after a quick check I found these:
http://www.packing.org/news/article.jsp/5894 http://www.packing.org/news/article.jsp/5924 My own opinion is that Beretta makes wonderful weapons. I think the Cougar is definitely a great buy as well. I havent tried this gun but I still recommend Beretta as long as you are aware that their customer service is absolutely awful( which you probably know after owning a couple.) I actually carry a 96 compact-L inox and I havent had any problems with it except a slide release that broke.(The gun would still fire) Good luck Last edited by zfleebin; 01-12-2004 at 02:50 PM.. |

If cash isn't an issue, I would buy either the SIG or the H&K USP.
Not that I have anything against the Baretta, but I know how much I like my SIG and I've shot the H&K. Both are great, reliable guns.

Thank you all for your help...I am still thinking and still doing my research.
I do like the SIGs but they cost so damn much. I am not a big Glock 21 or H&K USP fan, they are just to damn big. Don't get me wrong they are great guns but damn they are big. The LDA... I'll have to look in to that some more. Thanks again. |

Yeah I know I have a Glock 23...I never was a Glock fan but I got a hell of a deal on my 23. I can't say that "I love it" but it is a great gun and I can't say anything bad about it.
My sister's boyfriend bought a Beretta 8045 today at the gun show (I don't know how he got the idea about getting one???) so I should be able to shot one soon. Maybe in after awhile I can talk him out of it...and get it cheap!!!! |
