The knife in CounterStrike is a real knife. It was custom made by Mick Strider for the Badlands Bowie competition:

There are folks that make weapons that are from various popular games. They are almost always non-functional (how would you swing the Final Fantasy sword after all), and generally expensive. Head over to the Gaming forum and look around. I recall a thread that had a link to a site that sold the FF sword and a few other game weapons.

In the game Battlefield 1942 you can use weapons, cars ,tanks, planes and boats that were actually used in the second world war.

little off topic- and primarily aimed at Im2smrt4u
Props to the ABS- Good to see another knifesmith round here (no, I'm not ABS, never been a "joiner" type- but if i was thats the one to be part of) to anyone considdering buying a sword or dagger- remember- carbon steel is the way to go- NOT STAINLESS- that is if you want something functional

I would agree, carbon steels are the way to go for an inexpensive functional piece, but the new high-tech stainless steels (like the CPM-S30V) make very functional knives too. Of course, you can't really forge S30V...

quite right- most of my biz is swords, and so I tend to focus on that and miss the shorter stuff- has anyone tested the new cpm stuff for swords- looks like neat (if pricey) stuff ....

Well, I know L6 and A2 make great swords. I believe CPM-S30V and CPM-3V have been used in some big knives. Look here:
