The most common ammo weights are from .2 to .25 and these ammo weights are reccomended for stock guns which shoot around 250 fps up to guns that shoot 400 fps. When guns are tested for muzel velocity they are tested with .2 gram BB's as a standard, because the heavier the ammo, the more it will slow down your muzel velocity. There is a resverse to this as well. Lower BB weights in higher velocity guns shoot less accuratley because thier flight path is more irratic. Lower BB weights also have less brush penetration power and are affected by the wind more easily. That said, you should find the weight of ammo that fits your needs and stick with it. You should not mix ammo weights while loading because the shots will fall differently. Personally, I have a gun that is upgraded to 355 fps using .2 bbs. I prefer to use .23 bb's because they don't decrease my muzzel velocity much but they make my gun more accurate at longer ranges and give me some brush penetration power. Alright, now onto the second question. When you go to purchase you AEG keep this one thing in mind. Always buty Tokoyo Marui or TM. They are the most reliable and easiest to upgrade guns. They are also the best built of the other AEG brands. At all costs, stay away from Classic Army. The prices are cheaper but you will pay a lot in the long run on repairs. For some reason Classic Army has not perfected thier manufacturing process and sometimes guns have missing parts or thier parts don't fit will together causing the gun to not function well or at all. The cheapest gun models are the submachine guns and more specifically the MP5 series. The cheapest MP5 is the MP5k and it runs around $180-$200 but you have to shop around. Most MP5's are priced at $220. However, the are submachine guns and they have a shorter barrel making them less accurate at longer ranges, just like in real life. The most common weapon I've noticed is the Colt M4A1. Its a good all around weapon for long range and CQB. An M4 will run about $265. The M16 is in the range of $250. There are also a wide variety of foriegn guns such as the FAMAS, AUG, AK-47, FnP90 and those range from $220-$270. I personally reccomend an M16 series gun because you can use Army Surplus webgear to hold you magazines and as I mention web gear is the cheapest tactical gear to buy. Also, most people own M16 series guns so they can help you out if you have a problem with them. They also seem to have the most upgrades and extras. If you want to use a unique gun go for it, but you might have to buy specialized tacitcal gear. |

A friend of mine is making a movie with a large shooting scene, and wanted me to arrange the weapons and the training of the actors and extras. Its a blast, we are using various Airsoft guns, SMGs and pistols, and since the pistols actually blowback, it has made for some excellent shots. There is nothing more fun in the world than doing this.
