Damn U.S. Postal System - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

So i paid the money, Took the class, got the fingerprints, photos, letters of recommendation, copied my DL, signed and notarized the forms, and all the rest of the stuff to get my Utah CCW and mailed it in.... and waited, and waited, and waited. as per instruction from the Bureau of Criminal Identification i was not to call on the status until after 60 days had passed. So i waited the sixty days and nothing so i call em up. They dont have any record of ever recieving my application. Now hows that for pissing someone off. So i went to the post office and filled out one of their little forms and i guess we'll see what happens. More than likely i'll have to go do it all over again and pay the $$ again and then wait for it all over again. but this time i'm going to hand deliver it to the Bureau since i now live in SLC and am only a 15 minute drive away.

Worst thing about it is that if someone gets that package they have everything about me, photos, drivers liscense, addresses, fingerprints, social security, bank account, routing numbers, everything. an identity thiefs dream.

sorry to hear that. Perhaps you should have sent it by priority mail.

I request receipt acknowledgement on anything remotely important that i mail out... just in case....

yeah i know i should have. i dunno what i was thinking. i was in a big rush at the time and just wanted to get it on its way.

I think you should have sent it registered. So someone had to sign for it.

ya if i remember right at my class they told us to send it registered

I'm pretty much echoing the comments of those above -- either hand-deliver it and get some sort of receipt, or send it registered mail so that you have proof that they received it. You'd be surprised how easy it is for a county office to "lose" things which it isn't in favor of dealing with; in Minnesota at least.
