Well, hopefully tomorrow. I'm off, however that's not common. I'll take my five year old girl to ballet and we'll eat after. While eating, I'll be all like - "Hey babe, you and the girl want to go to the range with me?"
lol. We'll see how that flies. If not, one of my off mornings next week. |

I got the Para Elite Model. I actually had ordered the Para Tactical. I got a hell of a discount so I didn't say a word. Also why it took longer to get I imagine, too. Grin and bare it. I would have rather had a longer barrel and shorter flash hider but what the hell. Mine is an inch shorter and it handles well...from what I've played with it in the house anyway. My quick analysis is that the gun is lighter and more compact than I had expected. Which is a fantastic thing for my use. I had never put my hands on a Para model. The full size FAL's are heavy. This is, of course, not as light as an M4, but it sure beats the hell out of an AR-10. ---------- Post added at 03:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:04 PM ---------- Quote:
I was sooooo close to canceling this order and going with Robinson Arms XCR 7.62x31. But the FAL is truly what I wanted. No I can go ahead and get that RobArms ;-) |

Why did you have to wait almost a year to get it?

I never really took to my M1A due to it's weight and balance--how much does your FAL weigh Ruprex? How does it handle compared to say, a loaded AR15? Oh and I vote for the Urban Mirage Flage--it looks more 'blendy' than the other Urban color--and it'll match perfectly with all the dirty snow around here ![]() |

Remember to break it in properly, lubed, fire one shot-then clean the bore, repeat 10-20 times, at least 10. This will remove any milling and boring remnants and leave a true rifling.
Check online for the proper way to break in a new rifle. I only learned about the bore technique recently after 30+ years of shooting.

Initial shooting is very promising. I only got off about 60 rounds but the grouping with open sights and only a wood block for a rest was very pleasing. I manage to get 1 1/2 groups at 100 yards. not too bad for first time shooting. Again, the gun is damn light compared to the AR-10's and the SOCOM. I'll be going to the range again as soon as it's not so muddy. I'll have a good rest and be able to spend some time with the rifle. Overall, it's awesome.

I think you'll be very pleased. My DSA StG-58 shoots juuuuust sub-MOA with its' favorite load, and Mom's DSA Medium Contour (sold to finance the StG-556HB) would shoot .5MOA if she did her bit with match ammo. I've always heard the reliability of folding-stock FALs could be dicky, but if -anybody- can work the bugs out, it'll be the lads at DSA. It's a beautiful rifle, mate, nicely done! Good to see another FALophile out there!

I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a FAL, but thats just personal preference in a Pepsi vs. Coke kinda way. Regardless, thats a good looking rifle. It's been about 3 weeks since the OP. How does she shoot?
