I can't help but think about Gunkid whenever I see a thread like this.
|
I know...next thing we'll be treated to a lecture on the virtues of the Armored Assault Wheelbarrow (MkII).
|
I prefer the MkIII myself; it has two extra gunports not to mention the extra .25 inch of steel plate.
|
True, but that extra weight really cuts into the amount of peanut-butter you can carry.

Got some bucks?
http://www.guntechinc.com/Walther_PPS.jpg I've been wanting one of those for a LONG time. Got few bucks? http://world.guns.ru/handguns/kel-tec_pf9-1.jpg Got one.... it rocks for carry. Both, however, are shoot-some-carry-lots guns - they're really light weight, which makes them somewhat uncomfortable to shoot, and harder to shoot accurately. Guns like this will beat you around, and your hand will let you know, resulting in a steady dropoff of accuracy. Kel-tecs may not have the finish of other companies, but they are affordable and fill their niche quite well. Make sure to hit the grip with a little sandpaper and the finish doesn't enter into it. It's a tool, not a piece of jewelry. /links hot like a freshly ejected casing |
Since Crompsin has expressed his admiration for .380, did you check out the sig p238?
There is a rather lengthy review here: |

...and I'm in the same camp. .380 is the .40S&W of the 9mm world - just another neutered round with mediocre performance. |
Yeah, fo-get all y'alls .380s. They're garbage... should be on the curb.
It's like the fat girl you don't want your friends seeing you with in public. |

not to be unfair to one of history's great cartridges, but .380 has another problem- Its near impossible to fucking find any in a lot of places these days...have not seen a single box on a shelf anywhere in my town of 100,000 people in gun loving missouri, with our Dicks sporting goods, bass pro super store, midway USA down the road about 3 miles, and 3 super walmarts that stock a mind bogling variety of ammo types..... oh, and 4 dedicated gun shops as well..... and thats for at least six months now-
---------- Post added at 06:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:28 AM ---------- in answering the OP's question, the option I went for with regard to a really small pistol was first- a PA -63- the 9mm mak is ever so slightly more powerful than the .380, and is also priced about like 9mm round these parts- and it was available all through the darkest parts of the still continuing ammo shortage, mail order and on shelves locally - found the PA -63 to be easily carried, light, but it had a HELLISH recoil (damn thing is freakish in that regard, NOTHING else in my collection, including the .410 deringer, hurts to shoot like that) and so I ordered a spring kit from wolf gun springs, hoping that helps solve that ( have not been able to check yet) also go a good deal on a CZ-82- love the HELL outa that one, a little wider than the PA-63, but REALLY a heluva better gun- better sights, 12 round capacity, beter ergo, everything .... But then, Note that I am a self acknowledged fan of comblock milisurp guns, and something of a combat tupperware hater..... Sure, they do work, and damn well for the vast majority of shooters, but they just do not feel right to me.... someday I will most inevitably sip the glock coolaide, but not for a while at least........ |
if you have larger hands you may like the xd over the glock..
i cant fire those square shaped blasters very comfortably personally |
Glock is full of fail. All you need to do, Fire, is shoot a Steyr.
It is too bad they are not imported any more - they are what combat tupperware should aspire to be :D |
