Has anybody been to Frontsight?
I've been thinking about going to Frontsight outside of Las Vegas for a 4-day handgun class and wanted to know if any of you had been out there. They have a deal right now that you get the 4-day handgun class, a 1-day CCP class that can get you Nevada, Utah, and Florida (in turn 30 states with reciprocity) AND a Springfield XD pistol (9mm, .40, or .45) all for $1100.
It seems like a good deal to mel the gun costs about $600, so the two classes are being given for $500. 5 days of computer training usually starts at $2500, so $1100 is still a deal in my book. BUT, it's only a deal if the training is high-quality. What do you guys think? Front Sight Firearms Training Institute

I've been to Frontsight a few times and the 4 day handgun course is very good. If you've never had a defensive handgun course before you'll learn a lot. It's a course worth repeating even if you've had some training.
It's not that different from Gunsite, Thunder Ranch or other reputable schools in that respect. That being said it's run by Ignatius Piazza, a business-oriented Scientologist ex-chiropractor. Don't worry, he's a good instructor but he doesn't have a very good reputation in the "industry" for his business practices. That shouldn't affect you at all and you'll enjoy your classes. For the sake of principle I'd probably go with someone else in the future ... that's just personal. So take the class and enjoy yourself! A good deal is a good deal.
