And now for some thread-gone-full-circle humor: A picture of my old unit's Mandatory Combat Equipment.
http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...arbageGear.jpg Armor was IBA w/ SAPIs (throat choker and dick pad GO!), side plates with Kevlar backers and armpit guards, and the ridiculous Kevlar pauldrons. Ammo was ubiquitous 7 mags on chest, man purse of 40mm (horrible to carry) for us lucky NCOs with bloopers. Misc was my folding knife (my right, same one I use today) and a flashlight (my left). Battalion SOP dictated TWO TQs in left calf pocket, e-bandage in right calf pocket. Most retarded thing ever. "My legs have been blown off and... oh, shit." ... Point: Sometimes you can't avoid looking like the Michelin Man regardless of how much common sense you have up front (not that I had any). |
Noob. Apparently you haven't perfected the fine art of soldier care and placing mission first. Ex:
1SG: "C'mere asshole. Why does everyone here have side plates, throat and groin protection and (the silly arm sleeve things - I forget the name) except for you? Do you think you're special and MTOW doesn't apply to you?" Plan 9: "That functionally retarded 88M that got attached to us wasn't issued any of the those things so I signed mine over to him. It's all about soldier care, 1SG. Besides, if the truck drivers get fucked up, we don't get the supplies we need to kill bad guys. Mission first." Throw in a couple of "hooahs" to cheese it up. 1SGs love that gayness. ---------- Post added at 02:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:56 PM ---------- Quote:

Okay. Let me have it. :cringe: Put the pistol mags higher up. I had the pistol mags in front of my carbine mags, but during emergency pistol reloads I kept on grabbing the carbine mags (major Herp Derp). Put the admin pouch on my strong side with a couple of loose knick-knacks in there. 9-line cards, etc. are in there. The pouch is nice and thin so it won't interfere with my pistol draw. Rig has built in MBITR pouches at the 10 & 2 o clock positions (in the cumberbund.) Small bleeder kit in a double mag pouch mounted on the chest (including TQ and israeli bandage). The padded GP pouch is empty. The double mag pouch in front is empty for use as a GP pouch, or to plus up to 7 mags on chest, if necessary. Hydro carrier on rear. I should probably lighten it even more, but I'll leave it as is, for now. |
much better

Expensive crap I wear for sexy fun time. Partially assembled. Had to take a fancy picture of it before I roll left, roll right in it.

It's not a real battle bra pic unless you strut down the runway while making the zoolander face. :)
Needs more Molle. :) |
