Looking for a new gun safe
OK I've run out of room and am looking for a new gun safe.
I need something that can hold 5-6 long guns and maybe 15-16 handguns. Plus room for some mags and tools. I'm upgrading from my cheap Sentry Safe and thinking of getting a Browning safe or something. Any other recommendations? |
Holy crap, that's a lot of firepower. If I'm going to try and take your TV, I had better by Tony Stark.
What's your budget? Are you looking to invest in a Fort Knox, or something a bit more reasonable? Will you be expanding your collection in the foreseeable future? Will you be keeping anything else in there? |
I'm not planning to add to the arsenal for some time - but I said that before when I bought my first safe.
|
Do you have a budget in mind?

I had a Liberty. It was a good safe.

MSD,
Very informative ... thanks!! Longbough, if you make a purchase let us know what you bought and what the differentiators are. C |

NOTE : bolt the thing to the floor, preferably in a corner, and you will not have that problem- anything can be broken into, especially if they can knock it over and use a 5 foot pry bar on it- its exponentially harder to do if its bolted to concrete in a corner where they cannot get the leverage they need on it- I have talked to a guy who sold safes, who said that unless you wanna spend REALLY big bucks, any of the midrange ones are pretty much the same and its more what one does to secure them that matters..... and even a cheapo steel locker type one will stop most casual housebreakers- if a professional knows that you have a gun collection sitting there its pretty much gone provided they have the time and tools- If you live in an isolated area a hidden room for the safes might be the best bet (still bolt them to the floor of course)
