usp compact decocker
I tried a usp compact 9mm today for the first time and I really enjoyed it. The one thing I do not understand is why the decock position of the safety lever is past fire? I think it makes more sense to make the order, fire, safe, decock. This way there is less chance of firing when trying to decock....
Anybody know why they did it this way? |
Just to get it out of the way- I am not familiar with this specific model. I am assuming that mechanically, it is easier to do it that way, and I know it is with the CZ52(although one should not use the decocker on that gun). And, I think it makes more sense that way because when you are decocking, there is always a chance that the weapon will go off accidentally, so it is good to have you on your toes with it on fire/far from safe. Hope that made some sense.

because they are H&K, THATS WHY!! I really wish it was different, as I dont want to decock the gun if I put too much oomph into disengaging the safety. for what I feel is the best insight as to H&K's habbits, consult the old SNL skits with Mike Myers doing the 'Sprokets' skit. http://www.mike-myers.net/dieter5.jpg |
