Panasonic 42" Plasma (TH-42PX500U)
Alright the good news - I just took the plunge and ordered this TV...
Very excited. Now the question: Does it really matter if I use a HDMI cable to hook it up to my HD-DVR cable box or should I just connect it using moster RCA cables?

I have the 37" version of this TV. I just use RCA cables less than 6' long. I cannot imagine the picture being better. The difference between reg. TV and this TV is scary.
Before I spent the +/- $100. I figured I would use what I had. I researched quite a few forums and the general advice was try the RCA's first. If you are not satisfied, then use the HDMI. Worked for me. JHMO. YMMV.

DDDAVE - Thanks for the input. I actually lucked out. A co-worker at the office gave me a HDMI cable he was not using that he got when he bought his DirecTV HD-DVR.
Now if only the TV would arrive - it was suppose to be delivered today but now will not be delivered until Thursday. I'll let you know what I think once we get it set up.
