My PC vs. BF2
Ok, so I thought that my computer was pretty good, I just tried the BF2 demo and I was having some issues playing it. I would get some loading lag every once in a while and couldn't get the kind of display I wanted. Now I'm upgrading my monitor in the next few days and I wanted to throw down a list of what I have on my computer and see if you all could suggest some upgrades for me.
Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra 939 AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1gb OCZ PC3200 DDR Dual Channel GeForce FX6800 GT Creative Audigy 4 SC WD 250gb 7200RPM Sata HD 2x Liteon Dual Layer DVD-+RW So that's what I have right now. I had planned on upgrading my memory with a dual channel kit to add on, like 1 or 2gb pack. I was also looking into getting a 10,000rpm drive and I know that would help, but how exactly do you use those to their fullest potential? Alrighty, all suggestions are appreciated and detailed thoughts are even better.

Old signature just wasn't doing it for me anymore, so now I have this new one. It's equally as stupid but at least it looks really long. I'm probably just going to keep typing until I run out of things to babble about and see how many people actually read this. I once ran down a hill, fell down and hurt my elbow; my mom said I would be ok, she kissed it and made it all better. I've run out of things to say now, so if you have read this whole thing, congratulations you get a gold star! |

Your PC should run it fine. I have an Athlon 64 3700+, a 6800 GT, and 2 GB of RAM and I have my settings literally maxed out and it runs at a constant 50-60 FPS. Even with 1 GB of RAM you should be able to run it at very high settings. The demo always gave me problems as well by the way...the actual game runs MUCH better than the demo. The demo made my PC look really, really bad for some reason.
PS: Get used to the loading lag. My PC loads the levels pretty fast, but the game is notorious for having very long load times.

by load lag i meant ingame video lag, like.... i would get out of a vehicle to kill someone and the game would start to have a seizure, by the time it was done, i was dead.

That is commonly caused by the view distance being turned up too high. Turn your view distance down and see if it still does it!
