Hooking up a DVD recorder to TIVO?

Hey all,

I have Dish Network with Tivo and recently purchased a DVD recorder that hooks up to your tv. I want to be able to burn programs from TiVo to the DVD recorder? I would also like to be able to run it to my VCR so i can record some VHS tapes to DVD. Can anyone help with the wire routing?

The DVD recorder only came with one set of rca cables but i can use Coxial and S cables to hook it up as well.

i have tried hooking up the recorder to the sat/tivo reciever but it doesnt seem to work. and the instruction booklet only shows it hooked up to the tv.

Does anyone have one of these? Any help would be appreciated.

Should be as simple as running the Tivo to the DVD recorder's line in, and the DVD recorder's line out to the TV. But it could be that Macrovision or other copy protection hardware in the Tivo could prevent you from recording or even seeing cleanly the signal through the recorder.

What happened when you tried?

Coax is easy but you might want to stick with S or RCA. Coax generally implies going through the tuner circuitry which adds interference from the additional layer of de/modulation. Your signal quality is taking a hit if you have to tune to a channel.

Then again, some signal is better than none.
