Well, there might be a few ways to do it.
1) Use the audio menus and just leave the speakers on. You can adjust the volume of this as the center channel with the tv remote. 2) Is there an input for audio on the tv? Take the center channel cable output from your receiver (this must be an RCA connection, not a speaker connection) and send it to the audio input on the back of the tv. 3) Your best bet would be to use the center speaker that you already have. For many reasons, this will give you the best audio and will be more likely to give you seamless surround than using the tv speaker. If you want, some people just drop it in front of the tv, and point it upwards towards your listening area; point it to the same place as the left front and right front speakers are pointing. |

OK, well #2 is down... Well in that case, is there anything in the audio menus that allows you to select which audio goes to the tv speakers? If so, just send the center channel audio signal to the tv speakers, or just let them play the full audio (not center channel, all of it...)
What receiver do you have? |

here's how you can cheat to do it. It'll lower your picture quality a bit but most people don't notice. Hook the VCR up the old fashioned way - with a coax to the TV, and watch it on channel 3. Turn the volume up, and the bass on the TV down a bit. Voila, you'll have center channel audio out of the TV speakers.
Then, to get it to work with the DVD player, route the DVD into the VCR, switch the VCR to line mode, and watch your DVD through the VCR on channel 3. Or just use your existing speaker ![]() |
