DDR Ram Timings

I have 2GB of DDR400 ram installed on my computer. I was checking out my system info in CPUZ and ran across something that I find weird.

Take notice to the TRas. On the SPD tab (1st picture) it tells me that the memory is capable of a TRas of 8. But if you look at the Memory tab (2nd picture) the TRas is set to 7. Should I switch the TRas to 8 in the BIOS?

The SPD sheet shows what the timings would be if your clock speed is 200mhz. For some reason, you're not running at that speed.

Oops. That screen shot is from when the computer was setting the RAM to DDR333, I didn't notice that I grabbed the wrong one.

Here is the correct screen shot:

Is it stable? If you're getting any weird issues, then I'd say change it to 8. Otherwise, leave it how it is. The SPD ratings aren't absolute, they're more like standards, the maximum the manufacturer will guarantee it will do. It's entirely possible that your RAM is capable of speeds faster than it's rated for.

It's completly stable, no problems. Is a lower number better? I figured that 8 was better than 7. But if the 7 is better than I wont touch it.

Lower the better in terms of performance. But if you change it and have stability issues, the higher the better.
