Ripping VHS
I have some VHS movies that I wanted to convert to either DVD or save on my harddrive as an mpeg or Divx. Anyone know the best way to do this?
Really I'm concerned about quality more than anything given that the source material is VHS. |
VHS is one of the poorest video qualities in comparison to the DV out there.
The thing you will need to do is to encode it, using either a Dazzle card (consumer item) or Osprey (semi/pro) or something similar. I don't have any links at the moment but I'll see what I can find. |
I bought a card for $29 bucks that lets you do it. Avermedia was the brand.
It was sufficient for archiving old family movies before the tapes deteriorated. |
