Thoughts on these monitors?
Hello,
So I'm looking for a used CRT monitor. The bigger the better. And I found two - Nokia 445xPro 21" monitor being sold for just over $100 and a Dell UltraScan D1626HT 1600 for the same price. While I was aware of Nokia making monitors (among other things) I have had no experience with that brand. Does anyone have any thoughts on it, or the dell? Online specs can be found here: Nokia Dell |

I've not dealt with Nokia monitors at all. I've worked in a creative area for the last 8 years and we used Sony - Trinitron tube based monitors for many years. The Dell is essentially a rebranded Sony Trinitron so I can say it's a sweet sweet monitor. The only one I liked better was my old RadiusView, which was made for Macs.
Since Sony discontinued CRTs we wound up buying LaCie blue CRTs last year after a review with the designers. LaCie has since given up on CRTs...and now all the artists want 20 or 23 Apple Cinema Displays now anyway. Buying used is always tough. Good luck.

I think CRT purchases aren't all that exciting to the general crowd. Sorry you felt let down.
So far as I can offer an opinion, get the Dell. Same reasons portwineboy put out there. The nokia to me, from the pic, looks like it's not even a flat tube, which sux.
