GFX Driver: Can anyone help me find an old driver?
I just got done doing a routine "spring cleaning" reformat. I hate fixing things when the aren't broke, but I also don't like waiting for total devastation to risk losing things...
Anyhow, I wrote down the driver for my ATI Radeon 9700 before I reformatted. I couldn't find a site to download it from after I got everything up and running so I got the newest one Radeon is offering. I just got done playing a little World of Warcraft and my FPS is going awol though. I can run at 40-50fps plenty smooth then it will spike to 3-15fps for no reason. It's pretty out of control and I think it's just one of those regular graffics card driver bugs where you gotta find the one that works. Anyhow, here's the information I took down before I reformatted. -The version is: 6.14.10.6458 -And it was installed as ati2cqag.dll in System32 (not sure if this helps) I searched for the version but the only good lead I had from an archived Radeon driver site wound up as a broken link back at ATI.com. Thanks for any help guys. -T |
Just found the driver on my backup harddrive! I usually store those things but man was it buried deep.
Gonna give it a try tomorrow morning. Thanks for any help that was to follow ;) |
Not that you need it now, but here:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27 If you log in, you can get all the previous versions of Catalyst there. |
Rockin, thanks.
